Genesis R&D Manual
Attributes Tab
Any property you want to track for your food item (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) can be added here as an attribute.
The program automatically includes "Bioengineered" since food manufacturers must now declare BE food items on the label.
To add a New Attribute, click New
On this screen, enter the name and the qualifying rule. For example, the BE laws say that if any one item contains bioengineered material, that item is considered bioengineered and must be labeled as such. In this case, you would select "At least one item." For a vegan food, you want all of the items to be vegan so you would select "All items."
When you add an Attribute, it will appear on the Recipe Attributes and Ingredient Attributes screens.
Migrating from Groups to Attributes
Users who have been using Groups to organize and/or track foods can move those Groups to Attributes.
Highlight the Group file (this doesn't apply to folders)
Select the Rule.
click Migrate.
The Group will no longer appear on the Groups screen, but will be moved to the Attributes screen and act as an Attribute from this point forward.
Any Ingredients or Recipe records assigned to that Group will now be associated with the Attribute.
Once a group is migrated to an attribute the data is no longer managed by ESHA.
