Exempt Format Option Added for U.S. 2016 Linear Labels

Added a new U.S. 2016 Linear Label Format for exempt packages — those with less than 12 sq. in. of labeling space. These packages are exempt from displaying an Nutrition Facts unless there are claims, but manufacturers can voluntarily display an Nutrition Facts. If they choose to do so, they can choose to format is as a linear label with all of the text in 6-point type. So, for example, “Calories 12” isn’t larger than everything else.

To access this, go to Edit Label > Format Options > U.S. > Small packaging exemption.

Canada Labels

Bilingual Exemption Added

All Canada labels default to bilingual now, but if your label is exempt from the bilingual requirement, you can format it as a single label. Go to Label Settings > Format Options > Canada > Exempt from Bilingual Requirement

User-Added Allergens

User-added Allergens designated as “May Contains” will display “May Contains” in the Allergens list in both Recipes and Ingredients and on the Allergen Statement screen. In addition, when you select a “May Contains” allergen on the Allergen Statement screen, it will automatically appear in the Additional Allergen Statement.

Other improvements

  • Allow Sugar Alcohol <1g on Nutrition Facts

  • Improved display on high-resolution monitors
