Nutrient Content Claims reflect selected Label format
Nutrient Content Claims for the US 2016 label have been added to the software. The software will now evaluate Nutrient Content Claims according to the % DVs associated with the 1990 or 2016 label category (Edit Label > General > Category).
Applying Draft Guidance Rounding Rules
You can choose to apply rounding rules per the new Draft Guidance from the FDA for the latest labeling update.
Note: If you choose this option, it will override ALL OTHER ROUNDING RULES you may have previously selected under Voluntary Nutrients.
To use the Draft Guidance Rounding Rules
- With your Recipe open, click Edit Label
- Select Format Options
- Check Use FDA Guidance for nutrient rounding.
The rounding rules are summarized in this chart:
You can access the entire draft guidance document here:
Should the final rule differ from the draft guidance rules, the FDA will allow a grace period to make changes.
Online Help and Manual
All of the Help has been moved to this online document. Help is still triggered by clicking the question mark or pressing F1.
Data Entry (Decimals)
Data entry respects Windows Regional Settings, in the U.S. periods are used to indicate breaks for decimals(e.g. 1.25) and commas are use in entering in digit separators (e.g. 1,000), in other countries the opposite may be true (e.g. 1,25 or 1.000 would be inputted) this entirely based on your Windows Regional Settings.

DataLink
The new DataLink add-on module allows users to connect their ingredient data from TraceGains and to the Genesis R&D database.
When ingredient information is updated in TraceGains, that information is synced over to the DataLink application. Users can then review and accept changes. When changes are accepted, ingredients are then updated with the most current nutrition information in Genesis R&D.
