Oregon Cannabis nutrition labeling and report
More and more states are legalizing and codifying the labeling of cannabis products, although there is no current federal standard. As such, we will continue to roll out labeling regulations by state for the next few years or until this changes at the federal level. We’re starting with Oregon.
In Genesis R&D, the following has been implemented for cannabis labeling:
THC and CBD added as nutrients. You can populate these fields as you would any other nutrient, from the Nutrient screen of your Ingredients or Recipes.
Oregon cannabis labeling required set of nutrients created. Access this list in your Nutrients to View dialog. (From the Home ribbon.)
Oregon cannabis Nutrition Facts label format added.
Oregon cannabis Report added. Access this from the Reports ribbon. This report includes editable fields where you can enter information required on Oregon cannabis packages.
Ingredient Spec Sheet report
This is generated for use as a supplier spec sheet. The nutrient data is automatically populated from the data you enter for your Ingredient, and some fields are editable. Access this from your Reports ribbon.
Recipe Spec Sheet report
This is generated for use as a supplier spec sheet. The nutrient data is automatically populated from the total nutrient data for your Recipe, calculated from the Ingredients. Some fields are editable. Access this from your Reports ribbon.
U.S. sulfites feature
U.S. regulations state that products that contain 10 ppm or more of sulfites must make a sulfites declaration on the package label. This declaration is most often seen at the end of the ingredient statement. We have added features to assist users with this regulation.
Two new Sulfites nutrient fields have been added to the software: Sulfites ppm and Sulfites mg. You can populate these fields as you would any other nutrient, from the Nutrient screen of your Ingredients or Recipes.
If the recipe total ppm => 10 ppm, a sulfite statement will appear at the end of the ingredient statement.
Sugar alcohol nutrients added
Lacitol and maltitol have been added to the available nutrient fields and some of the database ingredients will include data for these nutrients.
Database Updates
Many foods in our database have been added and updated with the most recent data. Outdated ingredients have been removed.
