U.S. Label Settings
General Label Settings:
Display ‘Serving Size’ as: and Display ‘Servings Per Container’ as: Choose the wording for these displays.
Language Order: Select which language should appear first on the Label. This applies to bilingual labels only. Â
Format Options:
% Daily Value Heading: Choose the wording of the %DV column from the dropdown options.
Nutrition Facts Text: Choose the alignment and sizing here (Proportional, Stretched or Left Justified)
No Bolding of text in a Linear Label: The program will automatically bold nutrient names for the linear label. Choose this option to use normal (un-bolded) type.
Hide Trans Fat: Hides Trans Fat on the Label.
Show Standard Footnote without Chart: Shows the standard footnote but not the calorie conversion chart
Hide lines between Vitamins and Minerals: When enabled the hairline between vitamins and minerals is removed.
Wrap bilingual nutrients: Choose this to wrap nutrients to the next line instead of extending the nutrients and increasing the width of the label.
Hide Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron and Potassium: When enabled, those nutrients are suppressed from the label.Â
Italicize Trans Fat: Choose this to display Trans Fat in italics type
Use the 2018 Draft Guidance for Nutrient Rounding: Check this to use the latest draft guidance for rounding the nutrients on your label.
Hide %DV footnote: Check this to hide the %DV footnote on the label. This is only allowed in a few instances. Please check the CFR.
Hide Quantitative Values: You can hide the quantitative values (although the %DV will still display) for Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron and Potassium on linear or tabular labels for small packages.
Show Insignificant Footnote: You may choose to show nutrients of insignificant value in the footnote instead of on the label.
Use Simplified Insignificant Footnote: This footnote does not display individual ingredients, but says "Not a significant source of other nutrients".
Added Sugars
Show Palatability Symbol and Statement: Show dagger symbol and text for cranberry products
Show Single Ingredient Symbol and Footnote: Show dagger symbol and footnote for single-ingredient sugar products.
Small packaging exemption: If your package can only accommodate less than 12 sq. in. of labeling space, you may use this option. It will set all type in 6-point Helvetica.Â
To create a bilingual label:
- Go to Label > Edit Label.
- Click the Format Options page.
- Check Show Bilingual.
Leaving Show Bilingual unchecked will result in a single language label, as set by the Primary under U.S. – Language Order (General page of Label > Edit Label).
