FORMAT OPTIONS - U.S. 1990

Use unrounded values when calculating the Percent Standard

  • Choose this option if you want the Percent Standard (what this is depends on the Regulation) calculated from the unrounded nutrient values, instead of the rounded values on the Label.

Use Abbreviations

  • This will abbreviate the nutrient names on the Label. Example: “Total Carbohydrate” will read “Total Carb.”

Put Vitamins and Minerals into one column

  • Choose this option to arrange the voluntary Vitamins and Minerals into one column

Show Bilingual

  • This will be inactive unless you have the Mexico or Canada labeling modules.

Hide Dual Declaration “Contributes and Additional...” Footnote

  • This will hide that footnote.

Show Shortened % Daily Value Footnote

  • The footnote reads: "The % Daily Value tells you how much a nutrient in a serving of food contributes to a daily diet. 2,000 calories is a day is used for general nutrition advice." The shortened version removed the second sentence.

Include Recipe Name in Allergen Statement

  • The Allergen Statement will read “(Recipe Name) contains …” Example: Fruit Salad contains ...”

Include Recipe Name in Ingredient Statement

  • The Ingredient Statement will read “(Recipe Name) contains …” Example: “Fruit Salad contains ...”

Hide (4-4-9) Calorie Conversion Chart

  • This will hide the 4-4-9 chart displayed at the bottom of the label.

Ingredient Statement - Insert "contains less than 2%"

  • This will automatically place ingredients that make up less than 2% of the recipe into their own statement at the end of the Ingredient statement.

"Contains less than 2%" Sorted by Predominance

  • When you use the "Contains less than 2%" option, checking this will order the ingredients by weight instead of alphabetically

Always uppercase Ingredient Statement

  • The Ingredient Statement will appear in all caps.

Always uppercase Allergen Statement

  • The Allergen Statement will appear in all caps.

Hide Standard Footnote

  • This will hide the Standard footnote displayed at the bottom of the Label.

% Daily Value heading

  • Select how the %DV heading should appear

Nutrition Facts Text

  • Select how "Nutrition Facts" should be displayed at the top of your label

No bolding of text in a linear Label

  • The program will automatically bold nutrient names for the linear label. Choose this option to use normal (un-bolded) type.

Hide Trans Fat

  • Hides Trans Fat on the Label.

Label is for Child Less Than 2

  • Check this when your Label is for a child younger than 2 years old

Show Standard Footnote without Chart

  • Shows the standard footnote but not the calorie conversion chart

Hide lines between Vitamins and minerals

  • This will hide the lines shown between vitamins and minerals on the label.

Show Dual Amount for Dual Declaration Label

  • Show amount (usually gram weight) for both items in the Label. When this is unchecked, only the amount for the first item will be listed but the %DV for both will still appear.

Wrap Bilingual Nutrients

  • Check this to wrap bilingual nutrients to the next line instead of keeping it all on one line.

Italicize Trans fat on the label

  • Italicize "trans" in "Trans fat"

Hide %DV footnote

  • This can be hidden if certain low-calorie thresholds are met.

Hide Quantitative Values

  • This hides quantitative values and shows on %DV for mandatory vitamins and minerals (tabular and linear only).
