Adjusted Average

When creating a menu that allows patrons to select from a list of foods, you may wish to use Adjusted Average option so the analyses and reports will more accurately reflect the nutrient intake. For each item, you can enter the percent frequency that the item will be chosen by the patron and the program will show the average nutrient intake. 

This allows you to create a variety of menus in one document rather than needing to create an individual iteration of each possible combination.

In this example, I am saying that a patron will select the orange juice 50% of the time, the Apple juice 50% of the time and the Cranberry Grape juice 0% of the time. 

The analyses and Reports will then show the nutrient breakdown as an AVERAGE of the items. 

View Adjusted Averages on the Day screen

To see the Adjusted Averages on the Days, you will have to select which nutrient columns to display.

1. 1. Right-click on the screen and select Display Columns.
      
      
      
      
   2. Click Edit. This opens the Nutrient Selection dialog box. 
   3. Choose which nutrient columns you want to show. In this example, I chose Calories.
   4. Click OK.
   5. Click OK. 

For this example, 1 Cup of juice would equal 118 calories, or the adjusted average of the calories in the Orange Juice (122) and the Apple Juice (114).

You can add as many nutrient columns as you want.

View Adjusted Averages in Reports

Check the Adjusted Averages box. The adjusted averages will appear in your reports. The Report section offers more information.
