Installing on a Server

Use this guide if you are installing for the first time, whether it is a brand new computer or just a fresh install you will follow these steps:

Important Notes:

• Occasionally the installer will need a restart to finish, please ensure your machine will be able to be restarted if necessary.
• If installing with DataLink see this guide.
• If upgrading from an existing installation see this guide.
• If using a 32-Bit OS please contact support for an alternative installer.
• It is recommended that you right-click "Run As Administrator" to install properly.

1. Download and Launch Installer

2. Accept Terms to License Agreement and Select Install Location (Default is C:\Program Files (x86)\ESHA Research\GenesisSQL)

3. Click Next

4. Enter in Customer Number and Serial Key (Green Checkmark will Appear)

5. Click Next 

6. Choose which type of install you want to do:

Custom: Shared Install 

Custom Installation Steps:

• Click Next
• Next to Genesis R & D click the arrow to expand options
• Select the options you wish to install:
  • SQL Server Express 2014 
  • Genesis R & D Client (If Client is Installed)
• After option(s) are selected Click Next
• A Summary page will appear review and Click Install
• Upon completion of the installation, you will need to:
  • Grant Access to any Users who will need to use Genesis
  • You may need to configure the Windows Firewall (if enabled)
