Adding Bookmarks

Documents are bookmarked and bookmark folders are created from within the Document Viewer in much the same way they are on a website — by clicking the bookmark icon {icon image}.

Adding a new bookmark

Again, this takes place in REX’s Document View.

  1. Access the Document Viewer — from the Search page only — in one of two ways:
    • Click on the name of a document in the list of search result tiles
    • Expand the search result tile and click one of the View Results buttons

  2. At the top of the Document Viewer click on the bookmark symbol.

When you do so, a bookmark pull-down menu will appear. Choose (or create) your folder and enter a subject name for the bookmark. The page and search term will be automatically populated.

Folder
Create a new folder by typing in a folder name. IMPORTANT NOTE: At this time, you cannot delete Bookmark folders, nor can you rename them. Double-check your spelling before clicking Save.

Choose an existing folder by selecting one from the drop-down menu accessed with the down arrow. You can create up to 10 unique folders.

Example folder name: U.S. Nutrition Facts

Subject
Enter a subject name for the bookmark. You can have an unlimited number of subjects in each folder and an unlimited number of documents associated with each subject.

Example subject name: Footnote

Page
This is the page number where your search terms were originally found. You can keep this as is or use the controls to change the page number. This is useful if the searched for information is on more than one page.

Search
This is the original search term that was entered.

Save
Click Save to save the bookmark information. The bookmark folder name will be listed under the Bookmark Folders section on the left-hand side of the Home and Search pages. Clicking on a bookmark folder name from that section will show the folder contents and allow you to select a document to view.

Cancel
Click Cancel to close the bookmark menu and not save the bookmark.
