Search page
Initiating a search from the Home page will take you to the Search page. You can also select the Search Page from the Search tab at the top of the screen.
Scroll past the search filters to see the results of your keyword search. To further refine your search select one or more search filters.

Quotation Marks
Putting your search terms in quotation marks will return only results that contain that exact phrase. Example: “Dietary Fiber” will return results that contain “dietary fiber” and not results that contain only “dietary” or “fiber.”

Click on one or more: FDA, USDA, CFR Other to refine your search to those agencies or reference docs/citations. If none are selected all four will be searched.
Search all of CFR Title 21
By default, the program searches CFR Title 21 sections 2 and 3, which focus on human food and nutrition labeling. The default No selection excludes citations for pet food, chemicals and other areas that do not apply. To include these sections and search the entire CFR Title 21 press the Yes button.
Additional Filters
Click on the Show button to display additional search filters that allow searching on source guidance documents by Docket Number, Date Range, Type and/or Category. Each filter selected will narrow the search. If no search results are returned, the program is not able to find citations that match all of the selected filters. Click on the Hide button to hide the additional filters. The additional filters are hidden by default.
