The Protein Quality Index in the program is based on data from the 2002 Macronutrient DRI report
The Protein Quality Scoring Pattern (mg/g protein) is based on the 1-3 year old estimated average requirements for both indispensable amino acids and for total protein. It is recommended that these values be employed for all age groups except infants.
Protein Quality Scoring Patterns (mg/g protein)
Indispensable Amino Acid | Recommended FNB/IDM Pattern |
---|---|
Histidine | 18 |
Isoleucine | 25 |
Leucine | 55 |
Lysine | 51 |
Methionine + Cystine | 25 |
Phenylalanine + Tyrosine | 17 |
