Per the regulations, the nutrients for Front-of-Package labels must be listed in Spanish and include, in this order:

  1. Saturated fat (Grasa saturada)
  2. Other fats (Otras grasas)
  3. Total sugars (Azucares totales)
  4. Sodium (sodio)
  5. Energy (Energía) - either per serving or per package, or both

How to Create a Front-of-Package Label in Genesis R&D

  1. With your Recipe open, click on Edit Label and select the Mexico label
  2. Click View Label
  3. Select the Front of Package icon from the ribbon
  4. Under Select Format, click the drop-down box to choose from the four available icon options
  5. Under Options, make label adjustments as needed
    • Servings per Container: Enter the number of servings per container. For the two family formats, also enter the font, size and style, and set the text for the number of servings
    • Footer: Modify footer font, style, and color
    • Header: Modify header text, font, and style. Headers must be in Spanish. "Este envasa aporta" is one example of appropriate usage.

    • Icon Amount: Adjust the amount font, size, and color. Change cal to kcal or vice versa.
    • Icon Name: Modify the icon name font, style, and color
    • Icon Percent: Modify the percent font, style, and color
  6. Once all changes have been made, select 'OK'

How to get the FOP Energy amount to match the Nutrition Label Energy amount

Calorie values are always rounded to the nearest whole number for Front-of-Package labeling. Calorie values on the Nutrition Facts label, however, depend on whether you choose to use rounding rules, and which ones. As a result, you might notice a discrepancy between the two Calorie values. The regulations say this is OK, but if you would like the Calorie reporting to line up, follow these steps to change the Calorie value on the Nutrition Facts panel:

  1. With your Recipe open, click Edit Label
  2. Select Nutrient Options and expand Calories
  3. Check Round to the Nearest Whole Number
  4. Click OK.

The Nutrition Facts Calorie value and FOP value will now match.
