Search (Open) Menu
When you first use the program, you will see a list of included sample Ingredients and Formulas. As you continue to add your own records, this list will show all available Ingredients and Formulas.
On this screen, you can open Ingredients and Formulas by clicking on them once in the list.
As you start typing in the search bar, the program will immediately start to search the database for matches and refine your list of results. The more of one word you type, the more refined the search results will be. However, if you type more than one word or term (with a space between) the search will list all of the records that match any one of the search terms. This is called an OR search.
Ingredients and Formulas in the results will expand to show you their Alternate Names and Ingredients, if that’s where the match is.
Depending on which options and/or search conditions are selected, the program will search Ingredients, Components and Formulas for the results.
You can refine results by a variety of additional methods.
Refine Your Search Results
Select one of the tabs: All, Recents, Ingredients, Formulas
Use the right-hand sidebar to refine results by Component content, Cost, Shelf Life and Group.
Checking the box next to Component, Cost, Shelf Life will initiate an AND search. The results will be only those records that conform to all of the parameters set.
Target Amount
Use this option to define the Component and Cost search criteria.
The default is 100 grams.
Component
Use this option to search for ingredients and formulas that contain a nutrient component or a chemical impurity within a specified amount. After clicking on Component, choose the desired nutrient component or chemical impurity from the pull-down menu. Then set the criteria and number range for the search. The search results will be returned per Target Amount (100 grams is the default).
Example: Request a list of ingredients and formulas that contain Vitamin C between 0 and 10000 mg per target amount.
Click on Clear to delete the search.
Cost
Use this option to search for ingredients and formulas that fall within a specified cost. Click on Cost then set the criteria and number range for the search. The search results will be returned per Target Amount (100 grams is the default).
Example: Request a list of ingredients and formulas that cost less than $1.00 per target amount.
Click on Any Cost to clear the search.
Shelf Life
Use this option to search for ingredients and formulas that fall within specified shelf life. Click on Shelf Life then set the criteria and number range for the search.Â
Example: Request a list of ingredients and formulas that have a shelf life of less than 1 year.
Click on Any Shelf Life to clear the search.
Groups
When ingredients and formulas are assigned to groups, the groups will be listed in the search conditions and can be used to refine searches. Click the check box next to the group or groups to consider them in the search.
Note: Like the name entry, the Groups search in and of itself, is an OR search.
