Voluntary nutrients are just that — voluntary — unless you make any sort of related nutrient claim on your label. Example: “High in Vitamin C.” When you make a claim, you must display the nutrient on your label.To display

As with some mandatory nutrients, you can choose how some voluntary nutrients should be displayed on the Label if they are present in insignificant amounts. These are:

  • mono-unsaturates

  • polyunsaturates

  • polyols

  • starch

  • Fibre

The remaining nutrients can only be shown or hidden. They will have no additional display options.

To show a nutrient

  • click the Show (eye) icon
