Tags are used to organize your Ingredients and Recipes and help to refine and filter searches.

Examples:

Place a “Dessert” tag on all Recipes that are considered Desserts.

Place a “Spice” Tag on all Ingredients used to spice up a formulation.

Search later by the “Dessert” tag and see all your dessert Recipes appear as results, or “Spices” to see all the Ingredients you can use as spices.

To add a tag to the program

  1. Type the tag into the box. There is no need to add the #hashtag

  2. Click Save.

To remove a tag from the program

  1. Check the box beside the tag or tags you want to remove

  2. Click the trashcan

  3. A dialog will ask you if you’re sure. Click OK.

Custom Nutrients

Genesis Foods tracks 155+ nutrients, but everything from Added Sugars to Zinc. Even so, there might be something obscure out there that we don’t track but you dowe do not track that you want to track for your Ingredients. If that’s the case, you can create a Custom Nutrient that will appear for every Ingredient and Recipe where you can track that value that we don’t trackyou can populate in your Ingredients.

To create a Custom Nutrient, enter

  1. Enter the full name of the Nutrient in the “Add Nutrient” text box

  1. Enter an abbreviated form of that name in the “Abbreviation” text box

  1. Select a Unit (g, mg, kg, etc.) from the Measure combo box.

The full name will be used in all Nutrient grids, the Abbreviation will be used in the UI where space is at a premium or on some reports.

By default, Genesis Foods will display all 155+ Nutrients we track in the program in each Nutrient table. We have preconfigured a series of Nutrients to view lists that will change the Nutrients displayed in those tables, such as “Label Label - US 2016 All” that All, which would show all Nutrient Nutrients that are displayed on a US 2016 label.
