The User Code search applies to items to which you have assigned a specific user code. You may do this for , say, organizing purposes, or to simplify your searches. User codes can be entered for Recipes and Ingredients. (, and have to be unique across all records in your database. When creating a Recipe or Ingredient, entering a User Code is an option on the first screen.)
To search by User Code specifically:
- Type the User Code in the Search for box.
- Press F6 on the keyboard.
Note: The User Code search is an exact match. If your User Code is entered as "123ABC", by default you will need to enter that specifically in the search. Unlike searching by name, partial matches will not be in the search results.
However, User Codes support wildcard searches. The is the only search in our software which utilizes a wildcard. The wildcard is an asterisk (*), and executed by using the F6 key.
As an example I have several items in my database that contain a User Code
...
with "123" at least in part. By entering *123* in the Search box, and pressing F6, I find multiple matches.
